Tips for Use

Tip for use provided by SweetBio:

  1. Support for patients:

SweetBio® will provide an easy-to-follow script for you to support your patient’s expectations.
Email info@sweetbio.com for patient educational materials.

  2. Use on either side:
Since APIS® is made with natural ingredients, you might notice variations in shape, size, or color from one side to the other. That’s completely normal—and either side can be placed on the wound.

  3. Hydration is the Key:

Use sterile saline to moisten APIS® for 1-2 minutes. This helps it soften, conform to the wound, and support a moist healing environment. As APIS® hydrates, it may curl or slightly bunch - after 1-2 minutes, APIS® will relax into a flat, soft sheet.

APIS® should be wet, not soaking or dripping, to avoid saturating the secondary dressing. Note that APIS® may expand in length and width as it hydrates with saline.

  4. There may be a light scent:

You might notice a light scent when opening the pouch. It’s from the protein base of collagen and will fade within seconds.

  5. Maximize contact of APIS® on the wound:

APIS® must contact as much of the wound as possible and does not need to overlap the edges of the wound. Gently press to ensure it contacts the wound.

  6. Reapply at regular patient visits:

On average, APIS® dissolves in 7-14 days dependent on the wound environment. Apply a new APIS® product per your recommendation.

  7. If APIS® is still visible at patient visits, add saline:

If APIS® hasn’t fully dissolved at the patient’s visit, do not remove it— simply add a saline if APIS® is dry and dress the wound with your preferred cover dressing.

  8. Important Safety Information:
